Robin Lyons: Managing Director
Robin Lyons is the Managing Director of Calon and formerly MD of Siriol Productions from 1988 to 2005 when he led a management buyout to set up Calon. He has numerous credits as a writer and producer of animated films and series, most notably SuperTed and Hilltop Hospital, for which he won BAFTA awards, Under Milk Wood a film which uses the voice recording made by Richard Burton, the fourth series of Fireman Sam, Hana’s Helpline, and new hit series Igam Ogam.
As well as being a BAFTA award winning producer, Robin has had a prolific career in the media industry, including script writing, comedy performing and being a music critic for the Guardian newspaper, and writing several technical manuals for the European Media Programme. He is currently a Visiting Professor at the University of Glamorgan’s School of Creative and Cultural Industries and a member of the Children’s Policy Group of PACT (the UK television producers’ association).
Lynne Stockford: Studio Manager
Lynne Stockford is a director and Studio Manager of Calon TV. Lynne joined moving from assistant accountant to production assistant to production coordinator on major productions including Under Milk Wood, Santa’s First Christmas and animated feature film The Princess and the Goblin. She was Studio Manager on BAFTA winning Hilltop Hospital, Sali Mali and Fireman Sam. She is responsible for the general management of Calon’s production teams and facilities which now include a state of the art Hi Definition stop frame animation studio. Lynne handles productions, finance and client/broadcasters and is the public face of Calon.
Andrew Offiler: Head of Development
Andrew used to draw comic strips (back to front) for syndication in Arab newspapers, and designed a wrapper for perfumed cat litter. In 1982 he joined Siriol Animation as a storyboard artist, storyboarding SuperTed and several TV specials for the company.
As an integral part of the imaginative team that created most of Siriol Animation’s output, he helped form Siriol Productions in 1988. He was in charge of programming development for that company.
Together with Robin Lyons, he is in great demand as a scriptwriter and story editor for animated films and series, with over a hundred screen credits.
In 2005 he and Robin left Siriol to form Calon Ltd. where he is Head of Development.
Huw Walters: Commercial Director Huw joined Calon in 2006 as Commercial Director responsible for negotiating co-production deals, rights exploitation and raising finance for the company. He has 19 years experience of media business affairs, programme finance, co-production, sales and distribution. Prior to joining Calon Huw worked as Director of International Business at Welsh broadcaster S4C where he brokered co-production deals in every major territory and led a team exploiting programmes to over 100 countries around the World. During his time at S4C he was a director of its commercial subsidiaries S4C Masnachol Cyf, S4C Rhyngwladol Cyf and S4C Digital Media Ltd.
